Out to lunch again today – don’t you love holidays! This time to friend's with a beach house at Campwin Beach, south of Mackay. Here is the view from their back deck, and one of the local birdlife – a red tailed black cockatoo:
Sigh…….
I went to Myer, our local department store, the other day – they are having a big sale so I was tempted. I did by a few gifts, but nothing of myself. Aren’t you proud of me! Four months on and I have resisted anything new. Anyway, I noticed that fur is big this year in all the shops – fake fur that is. In the 40s fur, real fur, was very popular. I have done a post of fur fashions before, but here is an interesting little video I found on youtube featuring fur and swimwear – perfect for those of us heading to Summer or Winter!
To news of the day- On 5 April 1942 Japanese bombers began to attack the port of Colombo, and on 9 April Vampire and the Royal Navy aircraft carrier it was escorting,HMS Hermes, were both sunk off Ceylon. HMS Hermes lost 307 crew. Nine members of Vampire’s 600 crew perished and their names are recorded on the Roll of Honour at the Australian War Memorial, and you can read more about the sinking's here.
Hope you had a relaxing Easter break,
Deb xx
Lovely video, even though the clothes are a tad strange! XxxX http://thesecondhandrose.blogspot.co.uk/
