Style Files Saturday, The Queens Wardrobe

 

The Queen is in Australia at present.  Her 16th visit.

 

She loves monochromatic outfits, with matching suit (skirt or dress), jacket and hat and contrasting gloves and bags, and usually wears pearls and a glittery brooch. 

   

     

Has her style changed much over time?

 

1970 visit – the hat is contrasting, but matches the bag, shoes and gloves, patterned dresses

Late 60s – the bag may match the shoes, but not the gloves

Arriving in 1963 – looks like everything is white – brooch in the same place

     

1954 – more a scarf than a hat, and looking totally glamorous!

Here the Queen's summer suit features a fitted short-sleeved jacket with a peplum and a full skirt.

And here she is at the races in a sleeveless dress an sunglasses. Still so glam!

Well some say she’s boring an conservative – I think she is stylish and glamorous.
