Vampires–the ultimate time travellers - & house hunting

I heard some sad news this week (ok, it’s two months old news but new to me), Charlene Harris, creator of the True Blood vampire series of books featuring Sookie Stackhouse will release her 13th and final novel in the series next year.  I love anything vampire, including the Twilight series and the raunchy Black Dagger Brotherhood series by JR Ward.  As usual, the books are much better than the movie or TV versions, and if you haven’t read them download an e-book copy of the first one, Dead until Dark, right now!

To me, vampires are the ultimate time travellers and therefore any stories about them will have glimpses into the past, be it ten years ago or 100 or 1000.  In the True blood series there is vampire (Eric’s maker) who lived at the time of Christ, and then changed over one of the Rominov children after the Russian Revolution in about 1918 -  fascinating stuff!  In earlier books ‘The King’ makes an appearance, but you can’t say his name out loud or ask him to sing as due to the drugs  in his bloodstream when he was changed over he’s not quite all there and gets confused.  I  would love to write a vampire novel one day, because the possibilities of incorporating history are endless.

We have been busy looking at properties over the last few weeks.  We may have to make a decision soon as we have had an offer on our house.  It’s very difficult, as each property has it’s plus and minuses – nice house, terrible block, horrible house, great block, ok house close to town but hilly block, etc.  And everything really nice is over $600,000.  If only I could move back to  country Victoria where the prices are about $200,000 less than here!  Anyway, it’s  come down to these:

647 Yakapari-Habana Road, Habana, Qld 4740

One – 25 minutes out of town, 3 bed, 2 bath, 5 acres and $639,000

52 Camilleri's Road, Devereux Creek, Qld 4753

Two – 40 minutes out of town, 4 bed, 3 bath, 8 acres  and $599,000

682 Kuttabul-Mt Jukes Rd, Mount Jukes, Qld 4740

Three – 35 minutes out of town, 3 bed, 1 bath, plus cottage, 5 1/2  acres and around $600,000.

Which one would you choose?
