I have been doing a lot of paining and cleaning lately, which makes the house look good (well better) but is not really great for my hands. luckily for me I came across this little tidbit in the Australian Women's Weekly, (from August 1956):
Coincidentally this ad also featured in this issue of the magazine:
Always a sucker for advertising, I went out and bought some Nivea - to keep in 'arm's reach.'. They still make it, although the container is now plastic, of course. I also bought gloves, both rubber and cotton.
I will try and be good for a whole week, and see if there is any improvement. From this:
Do you wear gloves when doing housework?

They still make Nivea cream in metal jars in Poland! *^v^* (Although there are also plastic ones, in different sizes.)
ReplyDeleteI must admit I don't wear gloves doing housework, I just don't feel I cleaned everything properly in gloves... But I keep handcreams all over the house and put them on very often, definitely after washing up.
Oh, I'd love a metal one! You are to put on handcream - I am learning!
DeleteI never wear gloves when doing housework. I am also terrible at remembering to use my thimble when doing my millinery work. The result has been not so pretty. I have been trying LUSH's "lemony flutter" cream on my hands at night and then into cotton gloves...but every morning I wake up to find the gloves flung somewhere around the room...not in the bed, clearly thrown out. *sigh* beautiful hands just might be out of my reach at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI fear gloves in bed at night is beyond me too!
Deletehaha no I never wear gloves, apart from gardening. I have started to wear an apron though as I was for ever spilling bleach down my good clothes!
ReplyDeleteYou are good to wear gardening gloves - I always forget them too. Aprons, however, I love.
